[To the Editor.] Sir, —I see the Waitoa road champion has been blowing along the road, and in so doing blowing himself away, for after disturbing our peace of mind j. for months about the shocking state of the roads he now writes about the crust of twenty years standing—a crust of twenty years standing must be fairly good, a and a credit to the roads, and S nothing to grumble about, for I have seen the time when there was no top crust at all, and you could go a good way down before : : you .came to the bottom, so I ’ conclude all this fuss about the roads has been to let the people in the district know that a per- a eon bearing that doubtless and illustrious name has favoured J. j the locality with his presence.— I am, etc., An Old Hand.
