[BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] London, July 13. Armstrong and Noble remained at wickets for the rest of the day, and when stumps were drawn the total stood at 469 for two wickets. Arms trong indulged in some magnificent driving. He was missed twice, one over, off Braund first when ‘205 and again at 215 off ihe same over he scored 20. He knocked up 100 135 minutes. Noble was batting 55 minutes before he hi-, a fourer. The total score was the result of 4£ hours batting. Australia first inningsContinued. Armstrong (not out) 252, Noble (not out) 107, extras 13. Two wickets for 469. Somerset met the Australians to-day in fine weather and on a hard wicket. The attendance was good. The Australians opened with Trumper and Armstrong and after each norrowly escaped being bowled early iu their innings, they hit out merrily and 145 appeared on the board after 90 minutes, play, then Trumper, who had given splendid display for 86, was dismissed. Armstrong is not out with 79 and the score stands two wickets for 182.
