MUSICAL SOCIETY.

!The opening rehearsal; of the Musical Society took place on, Thursday night. There was a record attendance, sixtyone being present. The proceedings were characterised by great enthusiasm,, and if the opening meeting be any criterion, tho Society Jlias a prosperous season, before it The programme for next concert will be of a miscellaneous nature, and the glees selected are exceptionally tuneful, and cannot fail to be popular. In response to a’ request from Rev. Mi- McFarland, the Society has agreed to assist him at a religious service to bo held in Sinardou’s Hall on Good Friday evening. The Society will contribute some anthems, and solos, and probably some quartettes.
