MASONIC INSTALLATION.

The Installation of W.M at Lodge Te Aroha, No 52, took ploce at To Aroha on Monday evening last, and passed off with great eclat. In response to invitations issued to members of other Lodges a large number of visitors put in an appearance. Great prepara:ions had been made by a committee appointed for the purpose, and it was very gratifying indeed to see how much their efforts were appreciated by all present. The onerous duty of acting as Installing Master had been deputed to Bro A. S. Russell, Past Deputy Grand Master, and the way iu which he performed the ceremony left nothing to be desired. Bro J. W. Anderson, the W.M elect, was duly installed, after which he proceeded to invest his sub-officers for the following year. These officers, who had been unanimously elected t > fill the various positions for. the ensuing year, were as follows r D.M., Bro. F. Pavitt; S.Wi, Bro. H. Ross ; J.W., Bro. S. L. Bygrave; Chaplain, Bro. Rev. McFarlaud; Treasurer, Bro J.W. May ; Secretary, Bro. W. Hill; S.D., Bro. J. Rowe; J.D., Bro. F. D. Woods; Organist, Bro. J. T, Maingay ; S.S., Bro. A. Dickson; J.S., Bro. W. Pickett ; 1.G., Bro. J. Stanley ; Tyler, Bro. P. O’Meagher ; Auditors, Bros P. Gilchrist and Clifford. The following lodges were represented : Ohnomuri; Waihi, Lodge of Light; Mt. Egmom ; Rodney; Waiuku; and Otago. During the evening Bro Russell, D.P.G.M., presented Bn; Pavitt, D.M., with.a Gr nd Steward’s cer'ificate, and also Bro J. W. Anderson withaP.M certificate. The presentations of to Is in the different degrees were left in the capable ha*ds of Bros Moresby (W.M Lodge Ohinomuri); W. HeJley (W.M Lodge Rodney) ~ and Bro Russell (Auckland), delivered an address to, the newly invested Wardens. A collec ion on behalf of Widows and Orphans resulted in a sum of £3 9s being subscribed. After tho Lodge was duly closed a umptuous supper was provided, and a most enjoyable social evening spent, songs were renderod by Bros Burgess, Hope, Pavitt and Moresby. Before cosing ‘God Save the Queen’ was sung, and feeling reference made to our soldiors in South Africa. The singing of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ concluded the proceedings.
