MOUNTED CORPS.

These namess will be forwarded to Col Banks for approval. Considerable discussion ensued as to whether the corps should be Cavalry,.. Mounted Infantry or Lancers, and there appeared to be considerable - difference of opinion. A ballot was. taken, resulting in : Cavalry 27 Lancers 8; Mounted Infantry 4. The Cavalry, therefore, had a large majority . over the other, two. The next business was to. considerwhat name should be given to thecorps, two were proposed : The Piako. Cavalry and Thames Valley Cavalry.. A vote was taken and resulted in el, majority being in favour of calling it the Piako Cavalry, the voing being 20 for; and 13 against. Messrs Clifford, Scott, Strange and: Marshall thanked the meeting for their - election as officers. It was decided tliat, if possible, it, would be desirable to go into camp, for a week at Easter. A vote of thanks to the Chau mam brought tho meeting toi a close,.
