Plaintiff claimed, on behalf of Alice Burchell, his stepdaughter, for maintenance of her illegitimate child, of which he alleged defendant was the ; father. Mr •O’Meagher appeared’ for the defendant, the plaintiff conducting his own case.. Evidence was given at some length by R. T. Jansen, Alice Burchell, Alice Jansen, and others. The defence was a complete denial of all the charges. His Worship, in giving judgment commented on the unsatisfactory nature of the evidence, and the lack of corroboration. Whatever might be lys private conclusions, he could not see his way, in, the face of the evidence to grant an order against accused. He accordingly dismissed the case.
