WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.
The twenty-seventh annual Conference of the New Zealand Wesleyan Church was-opened in the Pitt Street Church,. Auckland, on Friday night. The Eev J. Orchard, Kaiapai, Canterbury, presided. The roll-call showed about 150 ministers and' laymen presort;, from all over the colony, and there was a large representation- of the members of the Auckland congregations. The retiring president delivered a stirring address, and the Eev J. Smalley, F.E.G.S , Nelson, was elected as president for the ensuing year by a practically unanimous vote. Burton ; Palmerston North, RtevT. A. Joughin: The Rev D.. X.. Murray, Thames, was re-elected secretary of Conference with 49 votes, the next highest being the Rev S. Lawry,. 22 votes. It is expected that the second reading of stations wilL be taken on Thursday next..
