ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES DURING EIGHT YEARS.
We have received,.from the RegistrarGeneral, the fallowing interes’ing particulars of the arrivals, and departures in and from ths **lony from the years 1892 to 1899 inclusive:—

Totals 164,545 137,220 27,325 New Zealand is thus shown to have gained population for each of the years 1892 to 1899" ino’usive by an excess of arrivals over departures, in addition-to the natural increase by excess of births over deaths. The total gain for the eight-year period is found to be 27,325 person si drawn. from other countries or colonies.
The total arrivals during eight years (1 64.545) include 18,902 children— i.e under tw-lve yen's of age—and the to‘al departures (137,220) aim larly include I3 r 523 counted as children.
