PAEROA MARKET.
Messrs Mackay and Pratt report as follows on their Ohinemuri markets for the week ending Febrxiary 1, 1900 : —We had a much larger entry of fruit for this week’s salo, and prices obtained were very fair. We still have inquiries for apricots. Apples made £d, £d, and Id; pears, 'fd, Id, and Ifd; plums brought l£d, lj-d, 2d, 2Jd, 2 jd, and 2sd ; peaches, 2Jd, 3d, 3sd per lb, 4d, 6£d, 6d, and 6sd per doz; tomatoes, 2d, 2Jd, 2£d, and 3d per lb ; New kidney potatoes are selling at. 4s 6d per cwt. There is still a good demand for houses, but property sales continue slow. A very laree attendance prevailed at this week’s auction of residents from all over the district, and competition was decidedly brisk. Large quantities of fruit aridproduce are expected forward for next Thuvsda3'’B sale, together with several cows, and a lot of furniture and sundries.
