(To the Editor.) Sir, — t notice in your local re fire at Mr Lennett’s, that my name is mentioned along with others, as if we had saved the place from destruction. Whereas Mrs Fawcett, with her family, joined by my daughter and son, and a yoUng lady and gentleman, strangers to me* formed the brigade which mastered the fire before I got to it. So that all I could do was to tell them how nicely they had managed, and indeed, Mr Editor, you would have been surprised as much as I was to see how they worked, Honour to whom honour is due, —I am, etc., Robert Maokie.
