(From own Correspondent.) THE DALEY BANKRUPTCY. Auckland, Last night. To-day Air Ehrmao, who sold his clothing factory in Grey street to Daley, was examined by tho Official Assignee. Daley is unable to find bail. DROWNING ACCIDENT. Wellington, Yes’ onlay. Frank WiLon, aged eight, wont cut fishing at Otaki, and was not seen again. The bod}’ has been found in Lake Takapau. FIRE FIEND. Dunedin, Yesterday. A six-roomed house at ihe north end of tho town occupied by Joseph Brown, and owned by R. fc>. Meat on, was burned down shortly before midnight. The house is insured for £‘2so in tho Soutli British Co., and the furniture for £350 in the Manchester. Air Brown had £250 in notes in a waulrob 1 in tho bod-room which he forgo* about, in the excitement of tho moment. A small fire had been left burning in tho kitchen and it is supposed to have caused the fire. NARROW ESCAPE. Thames, Yesterday. Whilst trucking at tho Aloanat fieri Creek a young man named Murdo-h, of T> ram, had a miraculous oscipo from being killed. The man in ques tion is one of a tribute party working on the Aloanatamri Company’s ground at tho time of tho accident. He was conveying a truck load of mullock from the mine to the tip over the side of the creek. The truck took cJuirgo of him at a point wluro there-is a slight decline in the Ironway line and pulled him over tho hillside and into the creek a distance of sixty foot, his mates went to his assistance and picked tho man up in a half-dazed condition and had him conveyed to his home for medical treatment. Murdoch received a number of severe wounds aud bruises about tho body and lie will be confined to bed for some days. There is considerable speculation as to how ho escaped with his life.
