Borough Council.

A special meeting of the Council was held last night, when applications for the position of Town Clerk, etc., and Inspector of Nuisances, as alreadyadvertised. The Council went into Committee, and ultimately made the following appointments. Mr Wm. Hill was appointed to act a 8 Town Clerk, Treasurer, Valuer, Returning Officer, and Rate Collector, and Mr J. Guilding to act as Inspector of Nuisances and Dog Tax Collect jr. Considerable business of a miscellaneous nature was transacted, of which a report will appear in a future issue,
