New Wesleyan Churches at Waihi and Karangahake.
A Thames paper of the 30th. nit, sayst-T-A somewhat unusual event took place in the Ofiiuemuri district yesterday, being the. opening of two new Wesleyan Churches, one at Waihi and the other at Karangahake. Each church seats 240, and ieextreinly neat and ehaste.in design. The. Rev.M.R. Dewsbury (of Auckland), chairman of the district, .preached in the morning and afternoon at Waihi and at Karungahake iu the evening. The Rev. A* Mitchell* preached at Karaugahake at eleven, and at three gave a musical service, which he repeated at Waihi in the evening. Needless to say that, with-two such, popular preachers, there ¥ellpcrowd* ed attendances throughout : the day. The celebrations are being continued by musical festivals to-night and tomorrow. The Karangahake Church was built by Messrs Avery Bros., of Paeroa,; and the Waihi building by Mr J. Holloway. Both edifices are & credit to the builders and to the Wesleyan denomination. In addition. to\. the opening of the two churches, the circuit had the pleasant duty. r of wei coming a new minister, to he stationed > at Waihi, in the person of the Rev.
