Ayr meeting of the Board of Education held in Auckland on Wednesday v the recommendation of the ; Teacher’s. Selection Committee to the effect that a qualified pupil teacher should be sent to Te Aroha (among other schools}) was adopted. In connection, with the teachers’ examination to be held o& 28th June, the Rev J. Campbell was. appointed examiner in Freuch. Examinations will be conducted at Auckland, Thames, Hamilton, and Whangarei. ' Applications were received from lfiprivate Roman Catholic schools* in the Auckland district; asking that the Board authorise the inspection of the schools by the Board’* inspectors^ :ia conformity with section 98 of the- ■ Education Acte The Board decided ;to adhere to its. previous resolution, regretting that it could not undertake* the responsibility of providing for the* inspection and examination offschoola other than those established as publicschools under, the Board’s management.
