Town Board.

The monthly meeting, of the Town Board'was-held last night, when there were present—Commissioners Gavin (in the chair), Bygrave, Mackie, and Gallagher. . AJv Complaint. With reference to

request made by. Mr Laffibe and others . that Board should provide outlet for water on their sections, the Chairman pointed out certain difficulties hv* the the way of doing the work. Besides they might soon be making * for water and gas pipes, and ft migbs be as well to wait till they had an idea what was going to be done in this connection.—lt was decided to inform the petitioners that the Board could not see its way at present to do the work; but that the matter would not be lost sight of when the Borough was formed. Morgantown Petition.—Decided that, when afli the signatures had been obtained, the petition should be forwarded to the Government./ Application for Lamp—-Messrs Faes, Calder, Harrison, Hirst and Sherlock* requested that the Board should placea lamp, at corner of Whitaker andi Burgess-streets, as there had been, several narrow from accident, at that point.—The Board decided that, the new lamp, be placed at Collins’’ corner. ; ‘ -- J- . Contracts.—lt was decided fo inform cbntractcfrs for formation at Rewi-r -street, and carting gravel, that if they do not start work on Mouday, the. Board will deal with their contracts. Finances.—The Clerk submitted the following statement of finance: —Cash in Bank, LI 26 3s 9d; cash in hand, L 3 9s 6d ; accounts owing, Ll 4 & lOd; credit balance at date, LIBS 1 Os sd. Accounts passed for payment.
