TE AROHA WEST SCHOOL.

(To the Editor.),

Sir, —-As it may interest your readers I send.yom herewith, a copy of the- Te[ArohaWesfc petition which has been [sent to the Board of Education rs-the [proposed school removal..’ The peth • tion (signed-by- every householder in Te Aroha West)., will at least show to pur Manawaru friends thatTe Aroha West settlers have done notning morethan duty requiredamthus endeavourling to preserve intact the educational [interests of the- district.. The school .has been an established institution in. iour district for 16 years. During that June it has not only supplied the educational requirements of the young .on ’week days, but has also provided facilities- to both old and young- for religious services on Sundays, and has. •thereby now become so incorporated with the warp and woof* as it it were,, of the district’s welfare, that it infelt ithat interests.so fundamental and so ;long and closely associated; with- every family in Te Aroha West can neither ;be quietly ignored nor ruthlessly set .aside,, and still less can they, be served without injury being done.. Hence the petition which, I think, will also, ■show that Te Aroha West settlers-; while lining, to safeguard the interests and privileges now possessed have ■neither been unmindful nor forgetful of the educcftional requirements of Manawaru district, but desirous rather that all the settlers of. that neighbourhood should have the same educational privileges which: we of To Aroha-West •possess, by applying for and getting a separate school in their midst, such. :as the present numbers and prospec-s five requirements.of. the growing dis. trict of Manawaru do really warrant •the Board of Education in. providing. —I am, etc*,, 7 - , A.. Morrison,
