Football Notes .

[by drop-kick.]

Punter writes :— I noticed by your report of the annual Football meeting held last Saturday evening, that Mr P. O’Meagher, had, with his usual generosity, donated cape to the Club. I would like to make a suggestion re the distribution of them. I understand that Morrinsville will put a team in the field this season, which with Waihou to the front again, will make three teams, and perhaps Walton or Waharoa might be induced to send a team to represent their districts. Why not form a kind of Union between the above Clubs, and make arangements to play two or three rounds during the. season, the winning Club to take the caps ? This would, perhaps, excite an interest in the game, which is greatly needed locally. Of course the above arrangement re the distribution of caps would have to be with the approval of the donor.

A practice match will be held this afternoon in the Recreation Ground. All players are requested to roll up,, in view of the approaching match with Morrinsville.

A match will be played on Saturday next in the Recreation Ground between the Te Aroha II and Taniwha, Paeroa. The following will represent Te Aroha: Flatt, BuchaD, Brenan, Oornes, Cook, Poland, Skellon, Mick, El Jennings, Young, Williamson, Morse, Salmon, Borne, Ross, Lawn. The ‘ Ponies ’ are again to the fore this season, and are busy training night and day, 'so as to give their antagonists a lively time of it when they come in contact with them. This evening a mass meeting will be held on the green sward in the pound enclosure, to discuss several matters of vital importance to the team. The annual meeting of the Hamil* ton Football Club was held on Saturday evening. A large number of new members were elected. Mr J. Lowe was elected captain, /Mr Geo. Armer was elected captain of the Cambridge Club at the aunual meeting held on Saturday night last.
