ANNUAL MEETING. . The annual.meeting of the Te Aroba Football Club , which was held in the Town Hall on Saturday evening was well attended. Mr J. T. Maingay was. voted to the chair. The secretary presented a statement of accounts, which showed that the receipts for the football season of 1897 were £9 16s 8d and the expenditure £8 13s Bd, leav ing a credit balance of £1 3s. The balance-sheet as read was adopted, and a Hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Rennick for his services as secretary and - treasurer during the season. Before proceeding with the election of officers, votes of thanks were passed to the gentlemen who held office during 1897. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Hon. A. J. Cadman, Esq., M H R. ; Presidents : W. H. Herries, Esq., M.H.R., and F. Pavitt, Esq. ; VicePresidents: Messrs' A. W. Edwards, S L By grave, G. Lipsey, J. La very, P. O’Meagher, T„ Mclndoe, Rev J Campbell, F. Pilling, T Gavin, H. Gotz, Ross, H. Cox, W. Hodgson, Farquharson, Gray-Johnston, J SmarW. H. Knock. Management mittee: Messrs F. Lipsey, J. Maingay F. Lawn, Lewis and Gotz., Selection Committee : Messrs F. Lipsey, J. Maingay, A. Lipsey. Captain : A. Lipsey; Vice-Captain :R. Bell; Secretary and Treasurer: J. Rennick; Referees : H. F. Gotz and J. Rennick. It was decided to adhere to the blue and white colours, and the annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. Mr O’Meagher offered ‘to provide a set of caps for the senior fifteen, and Messrs F. Lawn, and Gotz, on behalf of the Te Aroha Times, presented medals to the Club, the former medal to be given to the best all-round player and the latter medal to the best forward player. Votes of thanks were given to these gentlemen for their liberality, The Manageniejat Committee have in view a match with Morrinsville at an early date, so it behoves every player to roll up to practice to prepare for the coming season, which promises to be very lively and interesting.
