A match was played at Lipsey’s paddock on Saturday last, between Te Aroha and Waitekauri. The home team winning the' toss, put the visitors in to bat first. The Te Aroha players, although two or three of their good men were away for the holidays, made a fair stand against their formidable opponents. We understand a return match has been arranged for Saturday next, when we hope to see Te Aroha place a fully representative eleven on the field. In the second innings Waitebauri made 134 runs, and the light failing after Te Aroha had sent in four men, the match was. decided in the first innings in favour of Waitekauri by 48 runs. Total ... ... 52 The Waitekauvi team played a match at Hamilton on Monday, o ■ Sydney Square, and inflicted a de cisive defeat on the home team, Hamilton making 21, and Waitekauii 152. The top scorers were: Fenn, not out, 38 ; Coruthwaiie, 32 ; Walsh, 25 ; Adair, 22.
