Remarkable Shooting Affray.
A SON FIRES AT HIS FATHER. At Wagga Wagga on Monday last Patrick M‘Kearney, son of Henry M’Kearney, vegetable dealer, was charged with shooting his father with intent to do grievous bodily harm. The parties lived together, and on Saturday night young M‘Kearney went shouting, ‘ I’ll do for the boss. He’s been telling yarns to Suggars, and I’ll teach him.’ The father went out to see what the row was about, and on getting to the gate young M‘Kearney fired a revolver at him the bullet striking some silver coins in his ■ waistcoat pocket, and being thereby diverted. A red mark and a slight abrasion was left on the body of the father. During the hearing accused smiled at his friends in court and grimaced at his father, and was sharply cautioned by the P;M. for his behaviour, He was committed for trial at Wagga on 29th inst Bail was allowed, accused in £l5O, and one surety of £l5O.
