Charles James Russell, former! 7 a doctor here, some time pracfMog without a diploma was arrested on a charge of intent to procure the miscarriage of Kate Louisa Scott, and unlawfully using, certain instruments Upon her.. On Sunday Dr De Renzi called to. see Miss Scott and as she gradually became worse her deposition a were taken. As these implicated Russell he was taken to the girl’s house where she identified him as the peram who performed the operation. The doctors despair of saving Miss Scott’s life. Later Russell was charged at the S.M Court with performing an illegal operation. Tue Inspector of Police said the woman was in a dangerous condition and the accused was remanded to February 28th. The Magistrate refused to grant bail in any amount.
