Sir,—Can you inform me what has become of the Borough Petition ? I 'am informed it is usual for a petition of this kind to lie with the Colonial •Secretary for two months, after which, if there is no opposition, it is usually granted. It is now about four months since ours was sent up. What is the reason for this delay; can you inform me ?—I am, etc. Querist. [ln consequence of the late hour at which the above was handed in for publication, we are unable to reply in this issue through pressure on our space.—Ed.]
