Te Aroha Domain Board.

The monthly meeting of the Domain Board was held last night, when there were present —Corns. Gavin (in the chair), Knock, Mackie, Bygrave, and Gallagher. Free Baths.—An invalid from Sydney was granted free baths till next meeting. Advertising.—The manager of the Tei Aroha .News wrote suggesting that the Board’s advertising should be let by contract. The Board decided to call tenders from the two local papers for 12 months’ advertising, at per inch. Towels.—Messrs Clark and Sons; Sargood, Son and Evven; Mackay, Logan, Steen and Co.; and the D. 8.0 each sent quotations for supply of towls for the baths. Messrs Clarke and Co. and the D.S.C. sent samples, but none of them were considered satisfactory. As Mr Knock was going to town shortly it was decided to leave the matter in his hands to arrange for a better range of samples. Hours for Bathing.—ln accordance with notice of motion given at last meeting. Corns. Gallagher moved that the hours be from 6 a.m. till 9 p.m., and that on Sundays the baths be closed from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. This was seconded by Com. B> grave. In the discussion which followed, Com. Knock suggested that the recess should be extended another hour. This was generally agreed to, and the mover and seconder being agreeable, the motion as moved was amended to read “ that the baths be closed on Sundays from 10 30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m.” This, on.being put to the meeting, was carried unanimously.—The alteration will take place after a week’s notice from date, and will hold good till further notice.

Insurance. —lt was decided to renew the builder’s risk on the new bath-house for another month, as the building had not yet been certified to as completed. :f Notice to Bathers.— lt was decided to put notices in the private bath-rooms cautioning ba ! hers against sitting on the head-rests. Several of these had been forcibly wrenohed from their fixing, showing that they were used for purposes other than legitimate. Female Attendant, —Fourteen applications wore received for this position. each applicant forwarding a sheaf of testimonals. The following is a list of the applicants : Clara Matthews, Te Areha; A. Luke, Clevedon ; Isabella McLean, Thames ; Eliz Andrew, Paterangi; E. Carter, Hamilton ; Mrs E. Quigley, Newmarket; E. Millar, Mt. Elen ; Mi3S Meehan, Aratapu. The Board went into Committee to deal with the application.

Finance. —The Clerk submitted the following statement of the Beard’s financial position : To balance from last month, L 126 19s 7d; receipts: towels lls sd; baths L 65 11s 6d; library 15s; tennis ss; contractors deposits 20s. Total L 205 16s Id. Less accounts unpaid L 76 5s 9d. Leaving credit balance at datej L 129 10s 4d.
