Mining Notes.
The manager of the Montezuma G.M. Co. (Rev J. Campbell) has let a con tract to C. Road s party to put in a cross-cut to drive for the junction of the Silver King with the main lode (the Premier). As our readeis know the Silver King is on the Cadman S.C. The stone is to be treated at the Montezuma battery. At the Grand Result, another valuable property which has been acquired by the Montezuma people, six men are employed under the supervision of Mr Hoilaiid, breaking but 100 tons of very promising looking stuff from the Vulcan lode which traverses that claim
The extra pipes for the water-race on the Aroha Company’s claim have arrived, and in 14 days it is expected the race will be in working order. The rock drills are looked for daily, and as soon as they do arrive and the race is completed the air-compressor will be ready to discharge its function. When we say the tunnel is in about 1900 ft that is about all we can say of it at present.
