Jubilee and New Year’s Picnic Funds .

At the close of the special meeting of Board last night, a meeting of the joint committees of the above picnics was held to adept a balance sheet. ' All the members of the Board (who were on the Committee ex-officio) were present, also Rev. McFarland, Messrs Wallace, Stanley, Bossons, Strange and Hill (seeretay), Mr Hill read a statement of accounts in connection with the New Year’s picnic, of which the following is a summary: f > R e ceipt sSubscriptions received, £22 6s. Expenditure.— Sundry accounts (as per voucher produced), £tt Os 7d; prize money, £S 12s 7d. Total, £l6 13s 2d, leaving a credit balance of £5 12s lid. He also reported that there was a credit balance from the Jubilee picnic, amounting to £1 12s 6d. It was unanimously decided to amalgamate the two balances, which brought up the total to £7 5s sd. .It was decided after discussion to dispose of this as follows; L. 3,10 sto be voted to the Band for their services on this and similar previous occasions, and the balance, L& 15s 6d, to be given to the School Committee for the School library, such books to. be suitable for the scholar’s perusal. A pleasing feature of the proceedings was the unanimity with which the money was voted to the Band, great pleasure being expressed by all those present at the willingness with which they always gave their services. With reference to the second vote, there was an expression of opinion on the part of some of the Committee, that the balance should bo carried forward to- next year’s picnic, but the general, opinion was in favour of' the course eventually adopted, namely, assisting the School Library., * The secretary (W. Hill) was instructed to poy over the money as directed in the resolution. Votes of thanks wore carried to. the Secretaries and the Chairman, and the meeting terminated..
