Volunteer Notes

The following committee was chosen to arrange an entertainment to take place next month : Lance-Corp. Buchan, Vols H. Gallagher, A. E. Biggs, Fordyce, Summers, Hayes, Sergt, Salmon as Secretary. The committee met last night. The shooting for places in the team to shoot against the Thames Navals brought out some excellent scoring, Vol Kerr proving himself a reliable man by putting on 45 out of a possible 50 at 200yds (three shots), 300yds (three shots) and 500yds (four shots), several others following fairly close up. The T.R.V. Shooting Committee selected the following team for the Thames NaVal match, to take place at the Butts on Saturday Hanby, and Salmon, Lance-Sergt. Maingay, Lance-Corp. Carlson, Yols. McKee, Cornes, Kerr, Hirst, Strange, Summers, Salmon jnr., and W. Biggs ; markers, Corp. Jansen, and Vol. Hood.* The break will leave Smardon’s Hotel for the range at one o’clock. The chosen team are requested to meet at the Domain office to-night, in conjunction with the Shooting Committee at 7.30 p.m. It is possible that Oapt. Grant will be present on parade next Friday night to inspect arms. We shall be to say for certain in our next issue, At a meeting of the Minstrel and Comedy Committee it was arran, ed that the entertainment be held on the 24th February. J
