Messrs Peterson and Trethaway have finished their contract on the Stanley road, from Mr For rest’s residence to Higgden’s comer, and a thorough good job they have made of it. It will now be as good a road as any in the neighbourhood. Turnip sewing is complete, but vve are in much want of a good soaking rain. It would not only lay the dust on the roads and bring along the turnips, but make the grass grow in the pastures, which are getting very bare of feed for the cattle. We were glad to learn that Mr Heber Caudwell’s little boy is progressing favourably towards recovery after his recent accident.
