Volunteer Notes
At meeting of the T.R.V, Shooting Committee, it was decided to pick the team to represent Te Aroha in the match against the Thames Navals, on the 29th inst, from the following Cel-Sergt. Scott, Sergts. Stanley, Salmon, Han by, Lance-Sergt. Maingay, Corps. Buchan, J. Maingay, Lance-Uor. Carlson, Vols. Kerr, Forrest, Salmon, Hirst, Strange, Summers, W. Biggs, Borne, Goodfellow, Pickett. Practice for places on Thursday, 3 p.m sharp, and Saturday, 2.30. Ammunition provided. News has been received that Colonel Pol® Penton, the commander of the New Zealand Forces, will hold the annual inspection of the Ohinemuri No 2 Volunteers at Karangahake tomorrow at 730 pm. when all members are requested to attend, otherwise according to the Defence Act they are liable to a fine of £l. Leave of absence from this inspection can oily be obtained from the Commander himself. Lieutenant Colonel Banks will also be prepared to attend at the Rifle Range for the benefit of all those who can come to Volley Firing, and he trusts that a large number will bo there. 1
