WANTED, AN EXPLANATION.

t (To the Editor.) - Sir, —The Secretary of the late picnic, on a memorable occasion, fell foul of the local Band for not publishing a statement of „ their financial position, seeing the Band was supported ,by public subscriptions. Now sir, what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. . Why does he not give us a statement of how the money raised for the picnic was spent?;.. It is now over a week since it took place, and as the public freely supported the affair they are surely not asking too much if they want >to knfiiy how. their money has been bxpendp. And, by the way, we have never heard of a squaring up of accounts in cohnfiction with the Jubilee Picnic held iast)June. Mr Hill was, I believe, connected with that also. He might square up both things while he is at it.—lam, etc, X.Y.Z

(To the Editor.)
