The news that Fitzgerald’s Bros.’ Circus’and Menagerie iuteud paying Auckland a visit has spread like five throughout the Auckland province. This is really not to be wondered at when we consider the number. of agents this Company are employing on their behalf. Shortly after the arrival of the train in this district on Thursday aftornoon. Mr W. Walton, the advance agent for this part of the province, was busily -engaged posting the bills on tho numerous hdafdings, some of which are very ariistically arranged’aid' displayed.,. with great taste. This is without doubt the largest show ever seen in New Zealand, and in order to Successfully manipulate tho many branches connected with the affair no less than 100 persons have to be employed. The railway authorities have made special arrangements regirding train fares, etc., particulars of which will be found elsewhere. • The Fitzgerald Brothers, whose names are known thioughout the length and breadth of Australia as enterprising and successful circus proprietors, have opened up a new venture, which bids fair hot only to eclipse all their former triumphs, but to mark a. new era in the-record of tho many good-shows' which visit this part Of the world. The brothers, who are truehearted’ young Australians, have recently returned froth their first tour round the vyorld. They spent sik' months going through America, Eng land, and European Continential cities in search of novelties, and as a result have brought back with them a combination of star artists such, as much older entrepreneurs might well, fee prbudto managed Having made a triumphal- j ourney • through Victoria from Adelaide, the company opened at the Exhibition Building, Prince Alfred Park,- recently before an exceptionally large audience, but nevertheless an audience which email in' comparison to those which ’’'followed, consequent on' the reputation gained on the, opening night. The various performers are all so competent, and; their different acts are so thoroughly- well executed that it is''.n;ot easy to know where to commence a description of the show~ .
