. (Before R. 8, Bush, Esq-) • J. Williams, applied of Golden Grown Licensed Holding. No objection being lodged the application was granted* Mr Gilchrist appeared for applicant. William Newsome, application for Extended Special clai:y. at Waioron* gomai. Mr Gilchrist appeared for applicant. The applicant on being Bworn stated that .it was intended to float this, in conjunction with the Royalty, on the English market. It was proposed to expend some £2,000 in putting in tunnels,-otc.,and other--wise proving the value of the country. Thus. Gavin, who also gave evidence, stated :—lt was originally intended, to float the Loyalty mine on the English market, but'capitalists who had visited; the ground was of opinion the area 1 was too small. In order to overcome this difficulty the present application: had been lodged, which would be; floated in conjunction with the L lyalty ground; The area applied for was old abandoned ground ; which was repeated!/ tried, but it was found necessary that capital was required to carry on operations successfully. One of the Conditions on which the mine is being sold is that the of working capitalmus;: lujt-.bo-less than £20,000. The ground was known to bo auriferous and; it -intended to thoroughly test sanie by.. modern appliances, andsee if it would p q.*u remunerative. It was intended to spend the fehm.hf £2,000 •on the properties within the no * : v hteen months. Granted.
Hot Springs,No. 2. Objected to by W. Dibsell, on behalf of Wellington LH. Adjourned till next court •• day. A. Harris, R. Harris, and W. Mo Clear, applied for section amounting to one acre each for grazing purposes. —The Warden pointed Pufe.that he could not possibly grant such 'a large area to one individual, he would be willing to grant any one, section as a resident site, provided tlipy earned out tlie'tondrtions withdrawn. ' ... Malcolm Fleming. Application for protection for six months of 'Sceptre an 1 Sceptre Extended Special Claims; Mr Shepherd,-the Company’s manager, stated that these two, claims were part of the Aroint Syndicate’s property, the reason they were asking for pro.tection sras to ascertain the best place to commence operations on a large scale. Mr Shepherd said on these two properties alono £3OO had been expended since July 18th. The Company had paid some £5,000 as purchase money, and at the present time employed some 24 men. It w T as intended to expend some £4O 000 on the property. .Application granted. Jas. Johnson application for dredging claim on W.tiorongomai creek, some 39 chains. v Granted. '
