SHAFTESBURY.
(From our own correspondent.) agcFdent : RUSHED BY A MAD COW. Mr Gage-Brown, of Shaftesbury, had a sensational adventure with a mad cow the other day by which he narrowly escaped serious injury. It appears Mr Gage-Brown’ w.-iV'bringing in : a young cow and calf, wh < n the cow suddenly charged him several times, until the horse was tired nut and the stock-whip broken; sh ?' again made for the horse and the rider and struck the horse in the flank, one horn entering the horse on either side of Mr Gage-Brown’s leg, thus pining his leg agains.t the horse, but beyond being slightly bruised and the trousers ‘ torn Mr Gage-Brown marvellously escaped serious hurt. The horse, which'was a valuable one, was badly wounded, but is in a fair way recovery.
