FATAL BOATING ACCIDENT.) , Dunedin, Monday* By a boat accident in the harbour at Macandrew’s Bay, two young men were drowned. Claude Peaoocke, aged 18, who is in the Custom house, and William Fiddes, abouf”2o years of age», son of- a painter in South Dunedin!, were out in a boat with another young man. Peacock and Fiddes were drowned, but the other managed to escape. '• • ' FOUND DEAD. 1 ■ i' > Thames, Monday. An old man named Robert Roy was found dead in his hut near the Waiotahi aqueduct, in Burke-streot, this morning, i Deceased, who lived by himself, was last seen alive on Saturday afternoon. He was 84 years of age, and had been receiving charitable aid for a long time past. An inqest was held this afternoon. Dr Payne made a post-mortem examination, and found that Roy died from fatty degeneration of the heart, and a verdict to that effect was accordingly returned.
