TOWN BOARD.
The, ordinary monthly meeting of the Te Aroha- Town Board was held on Saturday, the J 2th inst. . The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE'. ■ ' ... From Hon. Cadman re .postal dei' very for Te Aroha. stating that the time is not yet opportune for the department to appoint a letter carrier. * From G. Devy re fencing in streets ; from P. Gilchrist, clerk Fiako Council, re subsidy; from iW. H. Knock re drain; from R. Harris re appiciation for sections ; from Dr. Simpson asking for monetary assistance. The Clerk .was instructed to write Dr Simpson stating that the Board had no funds available for the purpose. ' Com Hetherington moved that the Board withdraw their objection to Mr Harris’ application for sections, and that the question of streets be dealt with at next meeting. Resolved that the Board deal with Mr Harris’ application for section after the Warden has dealt with the application. to ~ Bew’s Contract. On the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Com Hotchin. it was resolved that the sum of £62 13s 4d, less the workman’s lein, equal to £47 nett, be passed to Mr Bew on account of his Bridge-street contract. The following accounts were passod for payment : P. Snewin, £5 ; J. B. Johnson, £1 14s 6d; A. Laybourn, LI 4s 6d ;J. Lavery, LI9 19s 3d; W. Roycroft, L 3 6s 3d ; J. Bew, L 47.
