WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Waitoa Road Board took place in® the Boards office last Saturday. Present: Messrs W. P. Chejindl (in the chair), JVHorrell, and M. O’Donognue. A letter was received from Mr John Squirrell, Secretary to the Gordon Special Settlement, asking if the Board will be prepared to assist towards a road from the Gordon Settlement to Waharoa, and if so, to what extent. The Board resolved to contribute the sum of twenty pounds towards the cost of the road from Gordon Settlement to Waharoa, on condition that the Government undertake and com plete the work (including the bridge over the Waihou River.) A petition was received from fifteen Waharoa settlers re the above named road. . Several other letters Were received and have been attended to. The following accounts were passed f<>r payment:—D. Bell, 12s ; J* Shine, £1 ; E. Adolph, £l7 ’ 14s V J. Swney, 12s; F. Pavitt, £3 15s; A. Bromner, £2 10s; T. A Grattan.
