MURDER BY A YOUTH.

Sydney, September 25. A youth, named Thos. McLean, assistant stewar 3 on the steamer Australasian, went on board early this morning and ‘ quarrelled with the steward, Thos. Ooulson, and stabbed him in the breast, Coulson dying in a few minutes. ‘

When arrested McLean state! that he was drunk. Ooulson pulled him out of his bunk and nearly smothered him. He then used the knife in selfdefence, not intending to kill the man.
