POCKET PICKING & LARCENY.
Auckland, September 23. Many cases of pocket picking continue to be reported. James Ferguson, a recent arrival here, was sentenced to three months on each of two charges, and four months on the third. A charge of false pretenses was adjourned. The prisoner arrived here recently from Wellington, . Owing to the nutrierous cases of pocket picking in the churches arid the number of burglaries here during the past few months, Mr Northcroft recently stated his intention to deal severely with all convicted offenders who appear before him.
