MINING.

Yestekday Mr J. H, Fleming paid a visit to Te Aroha for the purpose of handing over the battery, etc., to Mr Duffield, on behalf of the new company, who are at present working the main lode at Waiorongomai. The company have driven about 70ft into the reef, tho assay tests which have been taken gave very satisfactory returns. The manager purposes putting a quantity through the mill at an early date.

= The Manager of the Cadman Prosp acting Association reports as follows : —I beg to report we have been working the List three weeks.- on what is known as Hawkins’ leader in the above mine. The stone that wo have taken out shpws gold freely, and there is gold showing in the face of the stope at present. We also went down in level and sunk winze four feet deeper, and obtained very good dish prospects of gold ;by pounding the'stone. ' CADMAN AND SEDDON HOLDINGS, AMALGAMATED. The object of the m ‘rtting was to amdgamate the Cadmiu L.TT. with too - Seddon Special Claim, unking the combined holdings 80 acres Business relating to the sale of the mine in England was considered, and altogether things certainly look rosy* for shareholders in this property. The prospectors’ report was received stating that gold was still showing in Hawkins’ reef. The prospectors were instructed to open out the two large reefs running through the properties, to enable a thorough inspection of the various valuable lodes of ore which permeate the upper portions of the holdings. We understand that a machine site and water-race has been applied for. The water-rights of the Wairere Falls are under offer to the Syndicate, and should they be acquired by them this property stands unequaled for facilities in treating their ore.. . The value of promoters shares has risen to £4O, at which price there are buyers. Plans giving every detail are in course of prepai*atiou.
