A retter to Bdrotf' "Alphonse Both -s----child here exploded!' when opened by Jacobsky, the; Baron’s secretary, The latter had one of his eyes injured by the explosion and one hand. Several by-standers had a narrow escape. The outrage is believed to be the woi-k of Anarchists'. - The letter contained fulminate mercury between two pieces of cardboard with a small detonator. The explosion took place directly a little force was used to withdraw the card-board from the envelope. Rothschild was away at the time; Later. M. Jacobsky states that he drought the packet -contained race tickets, otherwise it would have been forwarded ,to Baron Rothschild.
