ECCLESIASTICAL.
The annual meeting of St. Mathew's Church, Momnsville, was held in the Morrinsville schoolroom on . Saturday evening last, July 13th. Present: Messrs W. Main, F. J. Marshall, F, Cole, E. J. Neals, and J. W. Schofield. Sympathy was'expressed wtihtheEev Evans, and regret at his being unable ohair, which was taken by Mr F. J. Marshall. .
Tha minutes of Ihe last annual meeting being road and confirmed, Tbe Church Warden’s report for the past year was read, and was of a niost cheering character. The jVestry being able to report that since the last annnual meeting they"have been able to build a neat little church, towards which almostevery one inthodis- ’ trict have subseribed most liberally, and the newly elected Vestry hope soon to be in a position to complete the church by lining, a new organ has also been purchased at a cost of £ls 10s. .■? It was resolved that the Church Warden’s report, balance-sheet, and accounts be passed, and a vote - of thanks recorded to the Church Warden for hi< carefully prepared accounts, and to Mr Mark Harrison for Auditing the same . ; , A proposal that the' Ministers stipend be increased, was carried unanimously. . • , Proposed and .carried, that the Vestry for. the ensuing year consist of the same gentleman as last year, viz., Mr F. J, Marshall, Ministers Warden; J. W. Schofield, Peoples Warden; Vestry, Messrs Main, H. Clifford, and J. E. Neels.
A hearty vote of thanks to all who had so kindly subscribed and otherwise assisted in church matters brought meeting to a close.
St. Mark’s annual meeting was held on Monday evening last. The annual report was read and adopted, after which the following officers were elecred for the ensuingjyear: Mr Marsdon, People’s Warden; Mr Mclndoe ? Minister’s .Warden ; Vestrymen : Messrs Gilchrist, Jackson, J. T. Maingay, Sfcrang-e, W. Maingay, and Eehnick. Sympathy was expressed for the Rev F. G. Evans.
