WAIHI WHISPERINGS.
(By our own Correspondent.)
Mu Walker has let a contract at 13s 6d per foot, for driving a level to intersect the Martha Reef.
Mr McLean is pushing ahead with his drive in the Waihi Extended.
Our sports are going to form a gun club, for Pigeon Shooting matches. Mr Quintou and Mr E. Needham are the promoters, Our Bazaar is on the way to-day; one of their shillingsworth is very good, it is a pill box with a siraT doll dressed as a bride, and on the cover is written, ‘ 1 to be taken in a lifetime.’ I am afraid that the weather will rather take away from the complete success of it, which is a great pity, as the ladies here spared no trouble in the matter. But our footpaths after dark are simply awful. Gladstone reef is looking better.
