■ A STRANDED WHALE - 1 Marsden Point,, Wednesday. A sperm whale, 70 feet long and 8 feet in diameter, was found stranded on the Qceari Beach yesterday,; near Kauri Mountain, by C. Urquhart and C. Robinson. It is in good condition, and'barrels were obtained this morning for saving the blubber. f > - WELLINGTON DIVORCE CASE Wellington, Wednesday. In the Divorce Court to-day, in the case of Morris v. Morris, a petition by the wife for dissolution of marriage on the grounds of cruelty and adultery, the evidence showed that the parties wese married at Wellington in 1879; petitioner being then only 13£ years of age. The case was adjourned. In the case of Pearson y, Pearson, wife’s petition for judicial separation 1m ■grounds of cruelty and desertion* the decree asked for was made. EIRE IN WELLINGTON . SUDDEN DEATH FROM EXCITEMENT, Wellington, Wednesday. A- fire broke out about two a.m. in a building at the rear-of Crespin’s grobery store on Lambton Quay; The fire waa soon. got under control, but the content's were greatly damaged, chiefly by water, and also the contents of shops occupied by .Oakley (tailor), and Cordoza (fruiterer). Two doors away was a small jeweller’s shop, occupied by T, C. Woodford. He was told, of the fire, and arrived on the scene in such a state of agitation that about four o’clock :-he died of heart disease.'- ; The unfortunate man was taken to a neighbouring hotel, and two doctors were called, in,, hut out avail. Grespin’s building atid stock are insured for £llsO in the Commercial Union and Norwich Union offices. The major portion is re-in-sured.- ' -
