A well attended meeting was held" in the schoolroom, Waharoa, on Wednesday evening*, to consider the ; best means to raise funds for a library. It was decided to hold a series ofj, eon-, certs, the first to be given on Suly 12th; Fully' half the district Is in training for the event, and we \ confident that enough funds will Be raised for the purpose* In a country settlement like this a libraryis a necessity, in the long winter evenings a good book is an entertaining companion. ' ''
Things are very dull here just now, we fervently hope your mining boom has come to stay, if you all turn into miners you will want us to supply you with cheese, butter, bacon, spuds, etc., which we could do in unlimited quantities
