PAEROA POLICE COURT.

F, Mitchell and J. -• McAndrew, JPs.] : ■ ' ' ’ Paeboa, Juno 27. , George Coyle was brought up to answer six charges of being drunk and disorderly, breaking windows, assault using obscene iangnage, and resisting the police on Saturday last, at Waihi. The accused pleaded' guilty all round. It appeared from the evidence of Constables Beattie and Bern that the • accused was a very rough lot; he had also several previous convictions against him. The Bench imposed fines in two cases, and sentenced accused to three months’ imprisonment on the charges of assault and resisting the police : the sentences- to run concurrently. - ,/ '
AN APPEAL FOR POLICE PROTECTION
At the close of the above case, . Mr John Lee Stevens appealed to the Bench to move the Government for additional police at" Waihi. : Drunk and Disorderly. John Gallagher, commonly known as Hobart town Jack, was charged with being drunk and disorderly, and was fined 5s and costs. The fine was paid. The Court then adjourned.—Tribune. ..
