PEOBABLE SALE OF WOODSTOCK AND TALISMAN MINES
There ’is every probability of the sale of the Woodstock and Talisman mines to Mr Rothwell, a London stockbroker, who lately visited the district, and •who 'l is one of the largest shareholders in the Waihi Co. In fact, the directors favour the offer, but it will require confirmation by the shareholders. The terms are : One large company of 160,000 shares of £1 each, present shareholders receiving 82,500 shares, 27,500 shares to he held .in reserve, 50,000 shares for the Loi syndicate, out of which they provide '£25,000 for development. The present local holders therefore receive three shares for every two they now hold.
It is also rumoured that the Talisman Co. have also received from the same gentleman an offer for their \ mine but the terms do not meet with general approval, and considerable opposition will be encountered from the shareholders. So far as I can divine the secret the proposal is: 30,000 shares of £1 each for present holders, £IO.OOO for working ex- .. penses, and 60,000 shares for the London market, total capital £IOO,OOO.
