WAIHOU CONCERT.
The Waihou concert and dance in aid of the public school funds, which was held in the local Public Hall on Wednesday last was an unqualified success, and far exceeded the most sanguine expectations of the promoters.
The whole district was well represented, besides the large number from To Aroha, there were several from Morrinsville, and the unanimous opinion of one and all was that a most enjoyable evening had been spent. The concert programme was a select and varied one, the different items were well rendered, and with excellent taste; we cannot particularize, as all were alike, good. After the concert the floor was plfiarfid and— dancing izr~ r dulged in, which was much enjoyed by those taking part. We are pleased to know that the concert was a financial success, the gross takings exceeding L 9, this result must be gratifying to the head-master, Mr Hooper, who, with his assistant, Mr Pooock, worked hard for the venture, and merited the success which was consequent upon their self-deny-ii g labours.
