THE MUSEUM ROBBERY.
RECOVERY OP THE COINS. Ov Sunday Mr Boston, Gaoler of Mount Eden Gaol, and Chief-Detec-tive Grace, recovered the whole of the missing coins, etc., the proceeds of tho Museum robbery. They fouud 706 coins in the Symonds-street Cemetery, buried under a" bush where a grave had caved in, in a spot in the gully where detection was almost impossible. Leavett, the man arrested and remanded on the charge of breaking and entering the Museum had been stated to have been in the vicinity of the cemetery, and the detectives had searched the cemetery on Saturday, but unsuccessfully. Threo hundred and twenty-three coins were found in a house in Newmarket in which Loavett was said to have passed the night. It is understood that Leavett hasmado a clean br as of tho whole business, and furnii-hid tho information, and done all in his power to roster© tho property which lie had - tken. Everything has boon recover* d now, even to the dozen specimens oi greou-backs and the seventeen coins, which Chief Detective Grace and Detective Chrystal ascertained ha ' been disposed of about the town and i u y recovered.
