WOOL SALES.
The third wool sale of the season held under the auspices of the Wodlbrokers’ Association took place on Wednesday I last. The numbers of bales catalogued 'were as follows:—Hunter and Nolan, 225 bales; Gr. W. Binney, 188 bales ; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, 131 bales; and A. Buckland and Sons, 223 bales, making a total of 767 bales, but in addition to the bales offered by Messrs Buckland and Sons, a large number of dumps, packets, and bags were sold, which would amount to upwards of 20 bales more, The following buyers were present:— Messrs Parker (Jagger and Parker), Colbeck, Smith (Ireland Brothei s), Wamock Brothers, Sutherland, Murgatroyd, Slater and Hellaby. Bidding was dull and depressed, and it is es ' timated that there was a general fall of nearly a farthing per lb since the last sale. A few lots were withdrawn at reserves, but the highest offers will bo submitted to the vendors for their ■onsideration. Mr J. M. Phileon sold; for Hunter and Nolan, Mr Kingswell for GK W. Binney and Sons, Mr Clarke Johnstone for the Loan and Mercantile Agency, and Mr A. Buckland, senr. for Buckland and Sons.
