THE PAPAMOA SETTLEMENT .
The drawing for the allotments on the Papamoa Land Association’s block took place on Monday last, at the office of Mr R. C. Jordon, surveyor, Tauranga. The ballot resulted as follows : No. 1, Mr Bossons; 2. W. Bennet; 3, S. Tanner; 4, J. Tanner; 5, Mr Johnson ; 6 and 7, J. Tanner; 8, Mr Bygrave ; 9, F. Livoek, (chairman of the association); 10, Mr Carroll ; 11, Mr Turner; 12, J. Fenton.;, 13, J. Shanahan; 14, J. Galbraith. Nos. 4 and 5 contain 95 acres each, No. 14 104 acres, and all the rest 100 acres each. The land is of excellent quality, and very level, but interspersed with swamp, and, being situated fronting the main road, half way between Taurangaand Te Puke,--is ■•easily accessible., . The majority of the members of the association are local people, the balance being from Te Aroha. Some of the selectors immediately after the ballot started off for their allotments, and several of them, are already hard at. work.
