TAURANGA RACES
The annual race meeting to be held tq-morrow (Thursday) at Tauranga, under the auspices of the Bay of Plenty Jockey Club, promises to be the best yet held in the district. Most of the horses to contest the various events have arrived, and as they look in the pink of condition, some very fast racing is expected. The following acceptances and entries have been received by the Secretary:— ACCEPTANCES. Bay of Plenty Handicap of 50sovs. One mile and a-half.—St. Kilda 10.0, Annabelle 9.12, Lady .JMtarion 9.7, Mitiora 8.2, Tiger 7.8, Flirtation 7 4, Pansy 7 2, Try Luck 7.2, Laddie 6.10, Sneak 6.9, Kelvin Grove 6.9, Lady’s Maid 6.7. Handicap Hurdle Race of 25sovs. One mile and a-half.—Viceroy 11.0, Pansy 10.8, The Saint 9-11, Adventurer 9.8, Witch Hazel 9.7, Te Whakatamea 9.6, Tarav/wa 9.5. Nominations. Maiden Plate.—Kino, Donald, Black Friar, Whiti, Anita, Mitiora, Banjo, Bettina, Tivin, Economy, Wildfire, Explosion. Hack Hurdles.—Major, Kimberley, Banjo, Musket, Carbine.
